TIW:Namespace
Appearance
A TIW namespace is a set of Wikipedia pages whose names begin with a particular reserved word recognized by the MediaWiki software (followed by a colon). For example, in the user namespace all titles begin with the prefix User:. TIW namespaces work very similarly to Wikipedia namespaces.
Subject Namespaces
These are the current namespaces. More may be added as needed, such as for the Connections Museum Denver inventory.
- Main namespace (no prefix): contains articles about worldwide telecommunications technology, history, series, models, etc. This information is meant to apply to any given instance of the subject matter.
- Connections Museum Seattle namespace (prefix CMS:): contains inventory articles for the Connections Museum in Seattle. This information is meant to be specific to inventoried items at the Connections Museum. General information should not be included in this namespace.
- Telecommunications Inventory Wiki namespace (prefix TIW:): contains pages connected to the wiki itself, like this one.
- Portal namespace (prefix Portal:): for reader-oriented portals that help readers find articles related to a specific topic
- User namespace (prefix User:): contains user pages and other pages created by individual users for their own personal use. Pages under this namespace can still be viewed and modified by others, so do not keep any of your sensitive data here.
