Jim's warehouse

From The Telecommunications Inventory Wiki
Jim's warehouse as seen from Apple Maps. It occupies the upper portion of this image, and is across the street from Stop & Shop, which can be seen at the bottom of the image.

Jim's warehouse was where Jim Day stored his massive collection of items relating to telephony, letterpress printing, pinball, and church organs. The warehouse was located at 485 Elm St. in West Haven, CT, and consisted of several buildings, each with several floors. Although Jim was not the property owner, he was granted extensive use of the facility because of his business relationship with the property owner.

Jim's collection occupied several floors in the warehouse, and was almost unimaginable in scale. First-time visitors to the warehouse often got lost, and repeat visitors could spend days looking around, always finding new things.

After Jim's sudden passing in 2024 the contents of his warehouse were sold off or thrown away. Some of his collection went to the museum, while other parts went to individual volunteers. Most of the collection could not be saved.
