CMS:Adits

From The Telecommunications Inventory Wiki

FXS channel banks or Adits are used around the museum to hold FXS cards. These are paired with FXO cards to send several multiplexed voice frequency signals over a single Cat 5 cable to different locations in the museum. The FXO side is connected to Kercheep, and the FXS side is connected to individual copper voice lines that are then connected to the museum's MDF.

The most common FXS channel bank used by the museum is an Adit 600, hence the genericized term Adit. The main purpose of connecting Adits around the museum is to provide a way for Kercheep to control several lines of simulated copper wire phones through the panel_gen call simulator software.
