The Main Distribution Frame (MDF) is a frame used as a hub for subscriber lines connected to switches as well as subscriber lines connected to telephones on the third floor of the museum. It is used in a similar way as commercial main distribution frames with the main distinction being that the museum's telephones are technically "inside plant."
