CMS:Shell Phone
Appearance
The Shell Phone is a Western Electric three slot payphone housed in a Gladwin Plastics Pearl Shelf-ette GP-4400 telephone mounting. It was originally installed in the lobby of the Polynesia restaurant on Pier 51 in downtown Seattle. When the building was condemned, an unidentified person salvaged the phone and eventually donated it to the museum. Both Polynesia and Pier 51 have now been demolished.
