kercheep's banner

Kercheep is a computer that lives in the 1XB. It runs Debian Linux and performs several important functions for the museum. Kercheep is administrated by Sarah and Matt.

History

Kercheep was originally a much older PC named "tray", which was set up by æstrid Smith in the early 2010s. Sarah later upgraded it, and renamed it to "kercheep" after a birdlike sound made by a tandem switch connecting a call over 2600hz supervised trunks.

It contains two T1 cards with 4 spans each, for a total of 8 T1 spans, or 192 voice channels.

It is running a custom kernel, compiled by Matt, and a custom version of Asterisk and DAHDI with the following notable modifications:

    • provides an ANAC at 537-1111 for switches that support ANI-B
